We were so proud that Tyn Y Simdde cottage was featured in The Times newspaper travel article, ” The little black book of secret holiday lets”.
“In 2002 the architectural historian Greg Stevenson rescued a derelict thatched longhouse in Lampeter — now his company has 68 properties available to rent. Most are in Wales and Ireland, but all have to meet Under the Thatch’s criteria for authentic conservation. The remote, 350-year-old two-bedroom Tyn Y Simdde is high in the hills of Dolgellau, Gwynedd. Saved from destruction in 1950, it has been restored with reclaimed flooring and traditional lime plaster walls.”
